Summary
The BauZirkular project is developing a continuous digital process chain that identifies interior construction products before demolition, makes them legally assessable, and returns them to reuse and take-back systems. The starting point is the AI-supported evaluation of digital and analog construction documentation. The Chair of Energy-Efficient and Sustainable Planning and Building is designing an AI prototype to automatically extract product, quantity, and manufacturer information, combining visual language and large language models. Concular translates these results into marketable applications: a parameter catalog and interfaces ensure the standardization of AI outputs; an ecological assessment tool quantifies CO₂ savings, resource conservation, and circularity, and is integrated into the existing platform modules, right through to portfolio potential analyses and routing in marketing or manufacturer take-back. At the same time, Hof University of Applied Sciences is developing Circular Legal Governance to ensure that data use, data sharing, and reuse are legally compliant and easily implementable for market players. Lindner provides manufacturer and product data, pilots the processes in real-world projects, and links identified components with existing take-back processes, right through to the creation of practical guidelines. Finally, the project supports the establishment of regional circularity and, with demonstrated application scenarios, makes a visible contribution to the marketability of higher-value R strategies (reuse/refurbish/remanufacture) in interior construction.
