Member of WOODRISE research alliance


The Chair of Timber Structures and Building Construction has signed his expression of interest to create a global innovation, research and development network, to enhance and promote medium to high-rise timber buildings on October 12th in Bordeaux.

The first working group meeting of the international WOODRISE ALLIANCE on Innovation and Research is taken place in Bordeaux, welcomed and hosted by the major, Mr. Alain Juppe at city hall. The kick-off meeting is the start to identify key challenges and priorities in research and development to facilitate innovations in high-rise timber buildings.

The mapping on global scale of essential capabilities and infrastructure in research is accompanied by the development of a "Research Technology Development and Innovation (RDTI) WOODRISE Navigation system" to medium and high-rise timber buildings. lt will include RTDI themes and priorities of relevance to enhance the added-value use of wood and wood-based materials in the fast developing construction markets on medium- and high-rise timber buildings.

The navigation bridge is located at the Institute of Technology FCBA in close collaboration with the partners of WOODRISE.
