Matthias Hofner joined the TUM Landslide Group

Matthias Hofner joined the TUM Landslide Group as a researcher working on the assessment of the rockfall hazard in the Partnachklamm gorge on behalf of the municipal council of Garmisch-Partenkirchen. He finished his B.Sc. in Geosciences and M.Sc. in Engineering and Hydro Geology at the TUM and LMU.

The aim of this assessment is to determine the risk posed by rockfall, in order to assure the safety of the visitors of the tourist attraction. A combination of mapping and deformation monitoring is carried out. These measures will be supported by laser scanning done by Benjamin Jacobs and Maximilian Reinhard from the Landslides group.
