Objectives

- Consolidation/expansion of the knowledge acquired in basic studies, preparation for the in-depth studies, preparation for possible intermediate activity in an office. - Competence in the assessment of the energy performance of existing buildings - Understanding of the building physics and plant-engineering backgrounds. - Issuing energy performance certificates and presenting competent refurbishment recommendations and results.

Description

- recapitulation of the main building physical aspects (heat, moisture, sound, light,...) - issuing an energy performance certificate for a residential building (own project, teamwork) - application of the energy conservation regulation in practice - implementation in a computer programme (EPASS Helena) for the generation of energy performance certificates - development of tips for ecological modernization of the object investigated (own project, teamwork) - presentation of the results orally and in writing.

Examination

Divided examination, overall grade is composed of - contribution of a paper - seminar paper or assignment with presentation (two sub-steps) - examination.
