The students who have attended the course of lectures will be in a position to understand national and international evaluation methods and certification processes (DGNB, LEED and BREEAM) and to apply these tools for the comprehensive life-cycle assessment of buildings.
Description
Course description:
The course of studies includes lecture and practical training. Within the framework of the lecture, international assessment and rating methods for sustainable building such as LEED (USA), BREEAM (Great Britain) and DGNB (Germany) and their contents will be analyzed (ecological, economic and social aspects). By means of practical examples, certification processes are described and individual criteria of the various systems are discussed.

Teaching and learning methods
Lecture and exercise:
Knowledge is provided in the form of a classic lecture with supplementary support through presentation programs. Furthermore, the contents of the lecture are focused on and solutions will be provided by working groups.
In addition, the students develop independently largely unknown topics in small new papers. The results of these workshops and homework items will be presented by the students in the form of lectures.
