About us

Following the mission statement "Construction ­– Infrastructure ­– Environment ­– Planet Earth", the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering is focussed on the built world as well as on sustainable and controlled use of planet Earth as bases for stabilizing and securing the existential needs of society. The Department is one of the leading institutions for research and teaching in the fields of civil engineering, environmental engineering, applied geosciences and related fields.
Integrated into the Technical University of Munich (TUM), which provides an excellent basis for interdisciplinary research, it benefits from being located in Munich, close to Ludwig Maximilian University (LMU) and excellent non-university institutions, with which it maintains cooperations through various formats.
