
The fire testing laboratory at Holzforschung München is recognized and notified by the German Institute for Building Technology (DIBt) as a testing, monitoring, and certification body for building control (notification number 0797). The laboratory has been operating continuously since 1958 as a fire testing center for all types of building materials and components.

Fire tests for all types of building materials and components in accordance with the following standards are carried out in our laboratories in Munich and our branch office in Dachau:
- Building material tests in accordance with EN 13501
- Smoldering tests in accordance with EN 16733
- Melting point determination of mineral wool according to DIN 4102-17
- Fire resistance tests according to EN 1363, 1364, and 1634
- Classification of construction products and types of construction according to their fire behavior: EN 13501-1 and -2

Manufacturers are supported in the development of new products.
The testing center is authorized to issue general building inspection test certificates.
In addition to testing, the center also carries out the monitoring and certification required by building regulations.
If products deviate significantly or insignificantly from the building authority's usability certificates (i.e., general building authority approval, general building authority test certificate, approval in individual cases, or product standard), expert opinions can be prepared.
