Rockfall detected at Hochvogel

In the night between October 25th and 26th 2022 we could detect the detatchment of ca. 300-500 m³ of rock at the Hochvogel with our new deformation camera (Geoprevent). The rock mass fell from an overhanging bank in the steep southwestern wall below the summit. This underlines how active the Hochvogel instability is. In our annual laserscans we could measure some precursory deformations on that block.
