Maike Offer joined the TUM Landslide Research Group as a PhD candidate

Maike Offer joined the TUM Landslide Research Group as a PhD student working on alpine permafrost bedrock. She completed her BSc in Environmental Enginnering and her MSc in Civil Enginnering both at the TUM.

Her research interest as a PhD student focuses on a quantitative imaging of water, ice, and air content in permafrost-affected bedrock close to infrastrucutres at high altitudes.  Her multimethod approach should help to approve the hazard  potential assessment of high-alpine infrastructrues with foundations and anchroing in degrading permafrost. The Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt (DBU, German Federal Environmental Foundation) has approved funding for her research.
