On Wednesday, 17 September, we had the honour of opening the 14th Japanese-German Bridge Symposium at TUM, a joint event with the University of the Bundeswehr Munich, which we co-organized by TUM together with the Chair of Metal Structures.
After the keynote speeches and the first session presentations in the afternoon, we invited everyone to join us for Bavarian beer above the rooftops of Munich in the evening.
On Thursday, most of the presentations took place in parallel sessions at the University of the Bundeswehr Munich. Our chair also contributed with the following presentations:
- Harald Burger, Sören Neumann, Oliver Fischer: DFOS-Based Monitoring for Prestressed Concrete Bridges without Minimum Reinforcement
- Sebastian Lamatsch, Oliver Fischer: Investigations on the Shear Behavior of Old Post-Tensioned Concrete Bridges using Beam Elements with Realistic Heights (Young Engineers Award for the contribution and presentation)
- Thibault Tepho, Marcel Nowak, Jonas Geng, Oliver Fischer: Evaluation of Site-Specific Traffic Loading in the Context of Prestressed Concrete Bridges at Risk of Stress Corrosion Cracking
The day ended with a festive gala dinner, Bavarian Schuhplattler and musical accompaniment by the band "Baulärm".
