Numerical Laboratory

Laboratory Director: Dr. Gerhard Lehrberger

In the numerical laboratory, there are 24 computers available to our students, doctoral students and all employees.

In addition, 2 special workstations have been set up. A powerful workstation for complex calculations, modeling as well as 3D applications and a workstation that has a flatbed scanner, a slide scanner and a large format scanner (up to 40'').

In the numerical laboratory, seminars and exercises are held in the fields of GIS, modeling (mechanical, hydraulic, thermal), 3D visualization and geostatistics. In addition, the laboratory is used by undergraduate and graduate students to work on their theses.

Following Softwares are in use:

  • Operating System: Windows 10 Prof.
  • Office: MS Office 2016 (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access), Open Office
  • Graphic: Corel Draw Graphics Suite 2019
  • Scientific Graphic: Grapher 10
  • Statistic: R
  • GIS: ArcGIS Desktop, QGIS, GRASS GIS, SAGA GIS
  • Modeling: Rocscience Suite, Alle Itasca Codes (Verwendung der Lizenz nur nach Absprache möglich), FeFlow, Petrel, Eclipse
  • Engineering Geology: DC Bodenmechanik / GGU Software Suite
