Calculation and Dimensioning of Structures II

The module "Calculation and Dimensioning of Structures II" is aimed at prospective vocational school teachers. They acquire a basic knowledge of the concepts and methods of statics and strength theory as well as of the most important load-bearing systems (frame, truss, slab, pane, continuous beam, tanner beam) and the integration of load-bearing elements, i.e. the load-bearing structure into the overall context of a building.

For this purpose, practical static calculations are carried out and the structural elements are dimensioned. The static mode of action of the load-bearing systems is illustrated by experiments with structural models and by examples from the past and present. Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator

Learning Outcomes

After the participation in the module "Calculation and Dimensioning of Structures II", the students are able to show solutions for the determination of internal forces on statically determined structures. They will also be able to understand and evaluate the load-bearing behaviour of different structural shapes.
