Design Project Building Construction

The design project addresses students from the faculties of architecture and civil engineering. It promotes the integrated work of the closely connected disciplines. The structural design is practised in accordance with the requirements of the structural theory on a planning task. In an ongoing planning process in coordination with the lecturers of both faculties, the students develop planning concepts. At the beginning different planning variants should be developed and finally worked out to one planning solution, the results of which are presented precisely and clearly with the help of the usual means of presentation ( presentations, plans, models, load calculations, calculations, dimensioning).

Learning Outcomes

The students learn to plan, design and detail buildings and constructions and to prove their stability by calculation. The focus is on integrative planning and the experience of the interdependence of building design, structural implementation and stability. The planning should be worked through until it is ready for execution in drawings, models, load calculations, calculations, dimensioning and presentations.
