  • Optimization under uncertainty: reliability based design optimization, risk optimization, robust optimization, stochastic optimization
  • Inverse Problems in Structural Engineering: parameter identification, model updating, state estimation, Bayesian optimal design of experiments
  • Development of optimization algorithms: Kriging based methods, stochastic descent methods, metaheuristic algorithms
  • Engineering applications: bridge structural design and safety assessment,  bridge weigh in motion (BWIM) systems, Transmission line tower structural optimization
