Project duration: 04/2025 – 03/2026
As part of this project, the Chair of Computing in Civil and Building Engineering at the Technical University of Munich, together with the Landratsamt Ostallgäu Ostallgäu and Alago Technologies UG, is developing an AI-based solution to simplify on-site inspections in building control procedures. The Landratsamt Ostallgäu commissioned the project and actively contributed to its implementation as a practice partner. Funding is provided through a grant from the Bayerisches Staatsministerium für Wohnen, Bau und Verkehr.
The objective is to significantly reduce the effort required for the preparation and follow-up of on-site inspections in building control procedures through automated information processing. The AI-based software solution is intended to analyse structured and unstructured data, in particular from digital building files, extract relevant information, and present it in a clear and structured manner. In addition, findings from on-site inspections are to be documented within the software so that building inspection reports can be generated semi-automatically on this basis.
The software concept is being developed in close cooperation with the building control authority of the Landratsamt Ostallgäu. Typical use cases are identified and systematically typologised in order to enable the transfer of the project results to other authorities or application domains. Integration into existing specialist applications and compatibility with established data standards are considered from the outset.
The project contributes to the digitalisation of municipal administrative processes and strengthens data-driven decision-making in building control and permitting procedures.
