Construction projects were and are characterized by interdisciplinary cooperation. With the increasing digitalization of society in the information age, cooperation between the different knowledge disciplines in the field of architecture, civil engineering, informatics and computer science, an essential basis in the construction sector is formed to investigate and develop new methodologies.

The BIM Lab at the Technical University of Munich is one of the most modern and advanced laboratories for digital methodologies in the construction industry and provides students and researchers working environments at the highest technical level possible.

The BIM-Lab provides a platform for research-related interdisciplinary teaching and is jointly operated by the Institute of Computational Modelling and Simulation (Prof. Dr.-Ing. André Borrmann) and the Department of Architectural Informatics (Prof. Dr.-Ing. Frank Petzold).
