The construction industry is of crucial importance to the German economy, employment, and infrastructure. Despite its potential, the sector faces challenges that hinder its full performance. One central challenge lies in the lack of standardization and interoperability of software solutions in the construction industry. While digital solutions offer immense potential to optimize the planning and implementation of construction projects, there is a lack of industry-specific standards and unified methods for data exchange. This leads to inefficiencies, delays, and increased costs during construction processes.

To address these challenges, the introduction of comprehensive platform technologies is proposed in the BauPuls360 project, which aims to enable seamless collaboration among all stakeholders. These platforms should be able to manage and exchange various formats and data representations. Enormous potentials are also envisaged in sensitive procedures for change tracking. Furthermore, processes could be accelerated and optimized through innovative services such as automated construction cost estimation and digital building permits.

The BauPuls360 project aims to address these specific challenges and fully exploit the potential of digitalization in the construction industry. By establishing open standards, promoting digital skills, and ensuring data sovereignty, the project aims to enable more efficient and competitive collaboration within the industry. By providing suitable digital tools and platform functionalities for SMEs, a significant increase in productivity and improved resource and cost efficiency could be achieved. Overall, the project is expected to make a significant contribution to the digital transformation of the construction industry, supported by the positive feedback and assistance of industry partners.
