Design of Timber Bridges

The history of bridge construction, exemplary structures, the compilation of the effects on the vibration behaviour and wood protection of the structure are explained and examples are used to explain the main topics of timber bridge construction.

Learning Outcomes

At the end of the module "Design of timber bridges", students are able to analyse structural systems for timber bridges, to understand exemplary projects, to carry out (apply) specific verifications and to analyse constructive measures with respect to timber preservation.
