New paper about nondestructive testing for scalings in geothermal systems

news-hydro |

Lilly and colleagues published a new article in the Journal of Nondestructive Testing titled:

Ultrasonic and Impact-Echo Testing for the Detection of Scaling in Geothermal Pipelines

presenting a new method to assess the thickness of mineral precipitations in geothermal facilities which could be part of a predictive maintenance strategy. This work goes back on the works performed in the Geothermal-Alliance Bavaria where scalings were sampled and tested throughout the North-Alpine Foreland Basin
