Last June 12, Javiera Paz Chocobar Villegas represented the GeoBOOST project at the ninth edition of the PORT-PC Congress, held in Warsaw , Poland. This congress is one of the main meetings in the country dedicated to heat pumps, and brought together representatives from the technical, academic, and institutional world to discuss the role of these technologies in the context of the energy transition.
The congress programme was structured around four thematic blocks, including the use of heat pumps with artificial intelligence, their application in new and existing buildings, the implications of the European Green Deal, and the use of shallow geothermal sources.
Javiera participated in the session dedicated to shallow geothermal energy, where she presented the contribution of the GeoBOOST project on the” Integration of geothermal heat pumps into spatial urban planning”. In her presentation, she addressed the benefits and challenges of integrating these systems in urban environments, as well as the importance of addressing policy and planning barriers to encourage their adoption at local and regional scales.
GeoBOOST's participation in the PORT-PC Congress strengthened the visibility of the project to key stakeholders in Poland, fostering the exchange of experiences and fostering future collaborations on sustainable energy solutions at European level.
