Course Content

  • geotechnical material models (elastic, ideal plastic, non-linear elasticity, distinction between loading and unloading, but also higher quality material models like Cam Clay, Hardening Soil and from the hypoplastic material law family)
  • Soil behaviour in so-called element tests (numerical mapping of standard laboratory tests such as oedometric compression and triaxial shear)
  • FE-programming of element tests and geotechnical standard problems (hydraulic calculations, settlement of flat foundations, modelling of embankments and supporting structures incl. excavation, mapping of the load-bearing behaviour of anchors and piles as well as tunnel driving)

Exam

The module examination takes place within the framework of a project work, which is carried out in the form of a group work (2-3 students).

Registration for the examination must be made in time at tumonline. The examination office is responsible for the registration for the exam.
