Course Content

  • Exploration and mapping / documentation (esp. geophysics)
  • rock classification
  • Eigenschaften von Fels (Klüftung, Schichtung, Abrasivität etc.)
  • Selected chapters on tunnelling in solid rock
  • Measuring instruments and methods (esp. force measurements, borehole measurements)
  • Driving classes for shotcrete driving (VKL according to DIN, securing of the face of the site, cross-section design, leading safety measures, ...)
  • Settlements in tunnel construction
  • Production of shafts
  • Tunnel statics (elastically perforated plate etc.)
  • cross-sectional design
  • Tunnels in groundwater (shotcrete jacking: dewatering, sealing, compressed air support, icing, DSV, ...; shield jacking: into the ground, ...) Tunnelling in unconsolidated rock; constructive training of tunnels in GW for the construction and final condition)
  • Evaluation/interpretation of measurement results

Exam

Each semester a written examination is offered. This includes 6 ECTS in the mandatory offer and lasts 90 minutes.

  • General questions without aids (approx. 60 minutes)
  • Calculation part: approved aids are books, study documents, simple scientific calculators (approx. 30 minutes)

All common aids are allowed (except for programmable calculators!).

The course contents of the elective modules are not relevant for the examination.

The course contents dealt with in the previous (current) semester are always relevant for the examination.

The registration for the exam must be completed in time on tumonline. The examination office is responsible for the registration for the exam.

At the beginning of the 1st Master's semester there is an excursion to get to know each other.
