Admission information

Objectives

After participating in the module, the students understand the normative verification methods of composite bridge building, composite high-building (floor, beams and columns) and their theoretical background. They are capable of learning outcomes at a larger static System (one construction of high-building) to create a static calculation, to apply to the documentation and the graphic representation of a static System. In addition, the students can develop the organizational process of a project (static of one construction of high-building).

Description

Composite construction in high-building: Fundamentals, design forms and verification of the construction elements of the composite construction (composite beams, composite columns and composite floors). Composite Bridge: Advanced problems of composite construction, serviceability and deformation calculations in composite bridges.

Prerequisites

Solve differential equations, visit the metal construction modules (basic course, supplementary course and design with metal) and static modules (basic and supplementary course)

Teaching and learning methods

The lecture is a classic course in the form of a PowerPoint presentation, supplemented by blackboard to record and further information. The exercise will be held using a Tablet PC. The presenter calculates the practice locally. The active participation of the students in the elaboration of solutions is very welcomed. To promote self-sufficiency and to practice, practice, the students design and calculate one construction of high-building in the form of a preliminary static.

Examination

The test comes in the winter semester. The performance proof takes the form of a 75 minute exam, which is divided into part A general questions and part B computing tasks. Part A, which takes 15 minutes, aids are not allowed. The students have to show in this part, that the basic relationships in the calculation of composite construction and steel composite bridges were understood. In part B, which is 60 minutes long, aids are approved (open books). The students have to proof in this part, that the calculation of composite construction and steel composite bridges and proof formats according to Eurocode were understood. In a study consisting of design, construction and calculation of one construction of the high-building, the students have to prove that they are able to apply learning outcomes at a larger static System. 10% of the study work and 90% of the exam arrives in the grading.
