Summary
Dömges Architekten AG built a new office location for itself in Regensburg harbor between the banks of the Danube and the harbor basin. The new four-storey office building was planned as a timber-hybrid construction in accordance with the KfW 40 standard. In order to be able to quantify the aspirations of sustainable architecture in retrospect, the Chair of Energy Efficient and Sustainable Planning and Building is working on and advising the client on life cycle assessment. For this purpose, a detailed life cycle analysis of cost groups 300 and 400 is prepared and compared with the requirements of the Quality Seal for Sustainable Buildings (QNG). The results will be evaluated and compared with different design options. Particular attention will be paid to the building envelope and its impact on the overall life cycle assessment. The results of the investigations will then be incorporated into the planning of future projects.
