Summary
The project focuses on simulation and visualization in a Decision-Support-Tool for use in planning processes. First, potentials are identified (AP1). Subsequently, the effects of different densification scenarios in a selected settlement type on climate protection (energy demand, GHG emissions) and climate adaptation (microclimate, outdoor space) will be quantified (WP 2 and 3) before the 3D tool is specified (WP 4). Besides, transferability to practice is investigated and workshops with local representatives will be held (WP 5).

Main objectives of the project:

  • Simulation for quantification: Practice-oriented assessment of the effects of redensification projects on interior and exterior comfort and resource requirements, considering

      - the effectiveness of green infrastructure as well as

      - the resource-efficient use of materials in buildings over the entire life cycle

  • The conception of digital tools for decision support in redensification projects
