The Bavarian State Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy (StMWi) is funding the joint research project "Micobiological methanation - Transition to commercial application" (KomMeth) of the Technical University of Munich and the Bavarian State Research Center for Agriculture with a total of over €1.7 million. At the official endowment ceremony in front of the pilot plant at the Garching wastewater treatment plant, Minister of Economic Affairs Hubert Aiwanger emphasized the energy policy significance of methanation as a bridging technology and its high economic potential.
